Funeral services for Opal Shaeffer 73 of Mt. Vernon will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Osborn Funeral Chapel in Dix with Rev. Rosco Gant and Rev. Ross Partridge officiating. Burial in Union Chapel cemetery. She died Tuesday at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. She was born April 27, 1903, married Homer Shaeffer Jan 1, 1936, and is survived by husband two daughters a brother a sister four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents and many siblings.
