Ed Maxey of Bluford retired farmer and carpenter died at 5:00 a.m. at his son Herschel’s home north of Bluford. He was 85. Funeral services set for Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakdale Church with Rev. Earl Michaels officiating. burial in Oakdale Cemetery. Body lies in state at Richardson Chapel in Wayne City after 10:00 a.m. Friday. Born March 1, 1875 in Jefferson County, he married Lillie Brookman December 24, 1896. Survived by wife, Herschel of Bluford, three daughters Rosetta Case, Essie Esmon of Bluford, Libbie Esmon of Mt. Vernon, seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and brother Fred of Bluford.
