Services were held today at Bilson Funeral Home for Mrs Hazel Stone stepmother of R E Stone of Australia Road. She died from a heart ailment at age 73. Survived by husband Robert W Stone a foster son a stepson and a stepdaughter.
Edward M. Jackson died this morning at his daughter's home in Bluford at age 58. Funeral services set for Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Drakdale church with Rev. Bird Green officiating and Oakdale cemetery burial. He was born April 30, 1890 in Bluford to Alfred Morton and Etter Jane Davis Jackson. Survived by wife Nellie of Mt. Vernon, sons Oliver M. of Mt. Vernon and Car D. of Aurora, daughters Mrs Lloyd Verhart Sterling and Mrs Clyde Ellis Bluford, nine grandchildren, brothers Ray DeKalb and George Montgomery, sisters Mrs P R Richards Mt. Vernon and Mrs Louise Purdue Pensacola. One son preceded him in death.
Mrs. Emma Voight White marks her 101st birthday in shifts at the Salem Home for the Aged in JULIET IL. She was born August 4, 1858, daughter of a pioneer grocer and tailor, and has eight grandchildren nine great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She has been bedridden for three years with paralyzed legs.

An Effingham Illinois debris worker Harold Koestert er 44, father of seven, was electrocuted Monday night when a gas pipe he held touched a live 69 000 volt wire. He was dipping the pipe into a chemical tank on a ladder at the plant.
