William C Weir 42, a former resident of this city, died suddenly Monday in Carlsbad New Mexico after an apparent heart attack. Born in Mt. Vernon he was the son of Elbert and Emma Weir. Survived by wife Hazel, three sons James William Clinton, daughter Ellen Jean, all at home, and brother James Robert Weir of this city.

Jerome Hook of Dahlgren died at 9:45 a m at his daughter's home. He was 94 years old. Funeral services were set for 9:00 p m Thursday at the Methodist church in Dahlgren with Rev. Edwin Minor officiating. Burial followed in Bethel cemetery. He was born July 7, 1868 in DeKalb County Indiana. He is survived by a son Oatis B. Hook and five daughters, fifteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, and two sisters.
