Sheriff Dies At Nashville Of Crash Injuries
NASHVILLE ILLINOIS Dr Freeman Kaser 6 a former Washington county sheriff and treasurer died today in Washington County Hospital of injuries from a two car and pickup crash three miles south of here on Illinois 127. He was a passenger in a car driven by Ben Voss 69 Nashville that was rear ended by a car driven by David Benning 25 Raymond and pushed into a pickup truck driven by Dale Sanders 56 Centralia. Voss Sanders and Sanders wife Imogene 49 were hospitalized. Kaser served as sheriff 1958 62 and as treasurer 1962 66.

Greco gets 30 more days jail in theft case
Robert Greco, 22, of 1321 N. 12th St., was sentenced to 30 additional days in the county jail and placed on two years probation after pleading guilty in circuit court to theft and unlawful possession of weapons. He had spent 192 days confined. He admitted stealing 20 radiators valued at $500 from a Route 5 storage area in October and possessing a shotgun and ammunition without a Firearm Owner's Identification Card in October. Judge Alvin Lacy Williams ordered home confinement 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for six months and jail time Friday to Sunday until he finds work or goes to school. He must pay court costs and $166.66 restitution for the radiators within a year and is prohibited from possessing firearms.
