No one was injured in three Mt. Vernon incidents on Friday. At 11 30 a m a truck driven by Homer Ray Arnold and a car driven by Raymond G Boone collided at Fourth and Broadway. At 3 30 p m Dorothy Pearson and Leo G Franklin collided in the 700 block of Perkins Avenue. Dorothy Pearson faced a charge of careless driving. At 7 50 p m a minor collision occurred at 12th and Main involving David Sneed and Roy L Simpson. Sneed, a constable, charged that Simpson left the scene.

Orchestra Leader Henry Busse Dies in Memphis Hotel
MEMPHIS Tenn Henry Busse renowned orchestra leader and trumpet player died of a heart ailment at a hotel. Age 61 he lived in Los Angeles and brought his orchestra to Memphis to play for a convention dance. He pioneered the muted trumpet after a long stint with Paul Whiteman. He spent 10 years with Whiteman before forming his own band.
