Five Mt. Vernon high school students in the distributive education program toured Famous Barr and Stix, Baer & Fuller stores in St. Louis. Accompanied by War ner Greenlee, they visited non selling operations at Famous Barr and selling departments at Stix Baer & Fuller, a trip arranged by the local Chamber of Commerce.

City Clerk Lester F Davis announced that $35 per year parking meter stickers and privilege stickers granting free parking at any Mt Vernon meter for a full year are on sale. Johnston Infant Dies. Funeral Friday in Bonnie
LaDonna Lee Johnston, three months old, daughter of Ernest L. Johnston and Eilene Smith Johnston of Bonnie, died at 4:30 this morning at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are set for Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Bonnie Church of God, with Rev. Loy Shaw officiating, burial in Bethel Memorial Cemetery. The infant's body will lie in state at the family home in Bonnie until the service. She was born December 15, 1951 in Mt. Vernon. She is survived by her parents and grandparents Lee Johnston of Bonnie and A. W. Smith of Bismarch, Arkansas.

On the Korean front Allied forces marked the first anniversary of a major Red offensive with light patrol contacts. Five small probes were reported as warplanes conducted saturation raids on Red supply lines. MIGs offered no opposition and U.S. Navy ships pounded North Korea's east coast. Red shore batteries fired on the battleship Iowa but caused no damage.

Missing Pastor Turns Up Broke In New Orleans
In Hutsonville Illinois the wife of Rev Jack Hanna says he vanished Friday night with their seven month old baby. The minister once lived in Findlay Ohio and studied at Cincinnati Bible Seminary. Sheriff Everett Alexander says Hanna was found in New Orleans and may have headed home or stayed with a local minister. no domestic trouble was reported.
