Oklahoma Driver Burns to Death in Highway Collision
An Oklahoma truck driver burned to death after a crash on U S Highway 40 near Effingham Illinois. Police could not locate identifying papers and sought the victim’s name by tracing the truck’s license 1950 Oklahoma tag 406 230. The collision involved two trucks on a notorious S curve five miles west of Effingham. The other driver was uninjured and three women were killed in a recent crash at the same curve.

ST LOUIS April 19 Two armed men robbed Public Service Savings and Loan Association of about $10 000 in cash and checks as staff prepared to close. One robber had a revolver and the other a sawed off shotgun. Eight staff and officers were inside.
