Mrs. Sarah Edna Smith of 1302 North Ninth Street died at 4 00 pm Sunday in Lowry Nursing Home at 76 years five months. Funeral services will be held at 2 00 pm Tuesday at Myers Chapel with Rev. Everett Lemay officiating. Burial will be in New Hope cemetery east of Inn. Body will lie in state at Myers Chapel after 4 00 pm today. Born November 17 1889 in Jefferson County she was daughter of Lewis and Rosetta Crider. She first married A J Page who preceded her in death August 9 1938. She later married W O Smith who survives. Survivors include three sons O T Page Sherman Page and Byford Page two daughters Mrs Earl Chaney and Mrs George Hicks all of Mt Vernon three sisters Mrs Rosa Kern and Mrs Ethel Summers both of Benton and Mrs Barnie Hamiolus of Granite City ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren Two sons preceded her in death. Mrs Smith was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist church.
