Funeral services for James Burris Carr will be held Sunday at 2 00 p m at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev John B Maulding will officiate and burial will be in Springer cemetery. Carr died yesterday at Vickers Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was born October 7 1875 near Thackeray Illinois the son of George W Carr and Laura Skibinski Carr. A carpenter, he was a member of Beaver Creek Missionary Baptist church. He married Leora Dora White March 16 1898 in Hamilton County who survives with six sons Leland and James H of Mt Vernon Burris Jr of Worth IL Dean of Wilmington DL Delmer of East St Louis and Colene of McLeansboro two daughters Mrs Gwendolyn Anagnost of St Louis and Mrs Walter Brown of East St Louis 25 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and one brother Joe of East St Louis.
