Amanda Arthur Dies at 77 Rites on Monday
Amanda Malone Arthur of 901 North Sixth Street died at 5:20 a.m. at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She was 77 years four months and 29 days old. Burial will be at Oakwood cemetery after a 10 a.m. Monday Requiem Mass at Trinity Episcopal Church. The body lies at Pulley Funeral Home after 4:00 p.m. Sunday. A Mt. Vernon resident since 1936, she was born November 10, 1872 in Quincy, Illinois, daughter of Charles and Sarah Malone Pomeroy. She married Rev. Samuel Arthur in 1894 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. he died February 15, 1947. She is survived by a daughter Olga Arthur at home.
