Deaths of Bob Pemberton Former Mt Vernon Resident

Robert Pemberton aged 44 a former Mt Vernon resident died suddenly in Anacortes Washington. A Navy veteran of World War II he retired after long service and was survived by his wife Virginia and three sons Tom Jim and Mike. Also surviving are his parents Mr and Mrs Lee Pemberton of Mt Vernon a brother Kenneth and a sister Mrs Earl Volkert. Funeral services will be held in Anacortes.

School Burglars Grab Four Clarinets at McClellan School

Jefferson County officers reported thieves broke into McClellan School on Waltonville Road this week and stole four clarinets and a small amount of change. The theft was found during an inventory yesterday afternoon.

Prices paid on the local live hog market were down 15 cents. The top moved to 12.85 for 190 to 220 pound hogs. Sows fell 25 cents to 11.75 for 300 weight down, sows 300 weight and over at 11.25, down. Boars ranged 8.00 to 9.00.
