Fatal Weekend Crashes Across Illinois Leave At Least Ten Dead
The Associated Press reports a weekend of deadly crashes across Illinois. In Chicago Edgar Isbell, 26, died on the Northwest Tollway near Elk Grove Village. A St. Louis man James Buckley, 20, died after his car split in two in East St. Louis. Ruth Stevens, 59, of Urbana, was killed in a three-car collision north of Salem. A Benton Harbor, Michigan woman, Pauline Motley, 60, died in a Chicago hit and run. Two children, Elissa Negron, 4, and William Friedle, 5, were struck and killed in Chicago and Grayslake respectively. Floyd Courtney, 58, of Muncie, Ind., died in a near Olney crash. Teenagers Sandra Mallon, 17, of Deerfield, and Robert Stone, 15, of Glenview also perished in separate accidents. Donald Hosse, 26, died in Chicago after his car hit a steel support for the Lake Street elevated line. The AP tally covers 6 p.m. Friday to midnight Sunday.
