Mrs Gilbert Messer hosted the J S club meeting Thursday evening with all members present. Guests included Mrs Juin Milly and Mrs May Johnson. After a brief business session led by president Mrs Mex Calloway, the group enjoyed needlework followed by refreshments of sandwiches cake and coffee.

Mrs Louis Frinke reviewed magazine articles for a fall bazaar. Hostess Mary Elian and Mrs Helen Peterson served angel fond cake ice cream strawberries and cotter refreshments with their daughter.
A gathering at the Max sonig Temple in Pacaday saw Bethlehem Chapter initiate two new members. Mrs Nancy Coakes and Mrs Nevene Highy joined, with Byerett Kracaw serving as worthy dlpalton. Guests from Hatch chapters attended. refreshments followed in the dining room.
Baptist Mission circles met Tuesday and Thursday afternoons with Mrs. Alice Smith and Mrs. N. V. Rich hosting respectively. Devotions were led by Mrs. Besse Marker and Mrs. Smith, followed by White Cross sewing and refreshments for attendees.
The PSBL0 Sisterhood group closed its year with a covered dish dinner at Mrs Ware Taylor's home on Friday evening. Mrs Finnefice Mack led the P and Q Home group in a brief peace, as about 50 members enjoyed a sumptuous meal. Committee members Mesdames Moe BR Balchelder Marguerite Rable Eva Kinney S W- assisted in organizing the event.
After dinner business was led by vice-president Mrs M D Linder. Non resident members Nell D Mineat from Maryville and Dorothy Willits from Cheago attended. Visiting members included Mas sey Hall Buzger from Corpus Christie Louisy Jericho from Chanter a R Muscatine Emma Brown Nelson from Mars Ta Hazel Hine executive secretary and others.
The Coterie held a one o'clock luncheon at the Harlan Hotel on Friday with Mrs Nell J Minear present. Mrs C Van Brussel gave a drylight review of Louise Dickinson Rich's We Took to the Woods, praising the Maine family tale and camp life in Rangeley Lakes.
The Woman’s Christian Temperance Union held a meeting with Mrs John Short on Wednesday afternoon. Members discussed community temperance efforts and planned for upcoming help programs in the town.
The informal meeting featured Misenda Conner performing a varied program including a recitation about her younger days titled The Two Glasses. The talk covered topics from liquor and gambling costs to the Fort Knox military draft experiment proposed to sway public opinion.
