Bethurum and Jarvis campaigned for Judge and Commonwealth's Attorney, drawing large Republican crowds in Old Rockcastle. The weekend tour ended with a record rally and a successful barbecue in Mt. Vernon, with crowds unable to hear all speeches.
At Mt. Vernon the Rockcastle County Republican rally featured Judge Bethurum praising his record and urging re election. Judge Jarvis defended his prosecutions and exposed Kennedy and Flippin's campaign tactics while recounting dismissals and legal rulings. The crowd packed the courthouse as speakers urged a 1000 vote margin.
Sheriff Cam Mullins declares support for Judge Bethurum and Prosecutor Jarvis in the August primary, asserting both are upright and capable. Clerk S F Bowman endorses the same slate, predicting at least a 1000 vote majority in Rockcastle County.
A series of visits and patrols fill the week as residents from Crab Orchard Liberty Junction and other towns travel through Brodhead. Carpenters for L N begin work on the old depot ahead of a new building while locals host guests from Jamestown Danville and Williamsboro.
A group of Somerset Bar members express appreciation for Judge Betharam of the Pulaski Circuit Court praising his clean honest record and impartial administration of justice. They note his executive capacity and legal ability, defending him against unfounded attacks and reaffirming trust in his integrity. October 20, 1914.
