Talks 4600 Miles Over Telephone
Washington and San Francisco connected by a 4600 mile telephone test last Monday. President Wilson spoke with Thomas A. Watson and the Panama Exposition president, then New York and Jekyll Island joined in. Alexander Graham Bell and Theo Vail listened in as the test proved a success with plans for transcontinental service around March first.
