S A Stid of Mason Michigan recalls a near deadly storm exposure that left him with a severe chest cold and breathing trouble. President Tait Delays Supreme Court Appointment
President Tait delays until next week the appointment of four successors to the late Justice Harlan on the United States Supreme Court. Clarence Alford was found guilty at Lebanon Saturday of assault upon a small child and was sentenced to twenty years in the penitentiary. Former Gov. Joseph W. Polk of Missouri announced retirement from the race for endorsement in that state Saturday and pledged support to Speaker Clark for president.
