Secretary Vaughn of Berea College reports the County Achievement Contest draws wide attention in the South. The Southern Cooperation League will back a large southwide program if the county wins. Kentucky crop report shows rise in corn and potato yields
Kentucky reports corn at 90,748,000 bushels up from 82,150,000 last year, with a 10 year average of 27.3 bushels per acre and 83 percent merchantable. Irish potatoes reach 4,720,000 bushels, up 25 percent from 3,770,000 in 1921. Other crops include sweet potatoes, apples, pears, clover seed, and sorghum. About 5 percent of corn acreage was silos and yield per acre averages 28 bushels, vs 25.6 last year.
