The Somerset Commonwealth condemns H C Kennedy for allegedly deceiving elderly black owners to obtain their land. It cites a 71 acre home valued at $500 to $600 and notes a Court of Appeals ruling against the transaction. Republicans urged to attend a July 30 meeting in Somerset where Brown will reveal Kennedy’s alleged conduct.
In Wilmot's Chapel Rockcastle Hon J A Brown accuses Judge Kennedy of chasing money. The speaker claims Kennedy formerly preached Christ and was a minister who opened a disreputable Monticello saloon for years, a fact known during the Circuit Judge race six years earlier.

The Mt Vernon Fair Association has hired Lieut Vonn of Stanford to fly an airplane at the three day fair with Lieut Coates of Richmond piloting. Passengers will ride daily for 20 cents children and 35 cents adults, with war tax included.
The Hefner-Vinson Stock Co opened a week’s engagement at the Burdette McKenzie lot on Lancaster street with The Girl He Could Not Buy. Lead performers James Hefner and Aliss Beatrice LeRoy drew praise for their work. The act interludes were noted as clever and amusing. Tonight’s program lists Irena Rivers a pretty play and promised entertainment.
