Girls Canning Club Demonstrations at Fair Grounds

The Girls Canning Club led by County Demonstrator Mrs. Julia R. Gentry will hold canning demonstrations at the fair grounds during the fair. Afterward Mrs. Gentry will assist locals at Citizens Bank on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, distributing bulletins and offering aid to promote canning, with sessions Aug 15 16 and 17.

Death claims three year old Homer Henson in Brock home

The death angel took Homer Henson, a three year old, from Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Brock on the evening of the 26th after a battle with spinal meningitis. Brief services led by Rev. M. G. Fish followed by burial at Oak Hill. Others noted: Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Soard called to Quail. Ira and Melvin Padgett headed to Cincinnati for work. Clyde Capps visit grandparents W. M. and Mrs. Capps. Julia Newcomb returned to Rowland. attendance at Rocky Ridge dedication and Hickory Grove Holiness church dinner. Earl Phillips in Wildie. Chris McClure visiting T. J. Holman. Raymond Lear improving. Edgar Mullins in town. Mrs. Laura Lear and Givens Lear in Mt Vernon.
