Amyx and Miss Lyda Cook return from Louisville. J A Childress and I W Catlin travel through Wildie. Egbert Hayse and wife from Cincinnati visit. Judge S D Lewis of Mt Vernon visits. Bill Durham’s remains arrive from Cincinnati and are buried in Ward Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. J F Neighbors visit Danville and Louisville and plan Niagra Falls trip.
Woodall the traveling salesman of London was in our town Tuesday. News reached here Tuesday announcing the death of Bill Durham in Hamilton Ohio. He was a citizen of this place until about two years ago. Particulars not learned. Ten candidates for jailer remain, each tenth man is a candidate, mudslinging among Republicans noted. James Maret for Clerk is favored. Marshal Hellard on street duty. Two intoxicated men jailed by Judge Witt and warned to keep quiet. election of Witt would bring a quieter town. A. C. Carpenter was a Mt Vernon visitor. Mt Vernon baseball team lost to Livingston who had a walk over. Nine days until the big Mr Vernon fair. J. H. Owens improving. Mr and Mrs Jerry Sams of Hazel Patch visited Will and Mrs Warren. Mrs A Taylor of Louisville visiting here.
