The October crop report indicates corn 70.7 percent. 71 percent of dark tobacco and 72 percent of Burley housed with 83 and 82 percent conditions respectively. Wheat sowing slow at 53 percent, pastures poor, water scarce, and cattle and hog feed down. Farmers urged to sow cover crops and save fodder with silos valued amid drought. An odd Kentucky ad describes a hog cured of cholera with Bourbon Cholera Rem Peral. The note claims the hog was near death and fully recovered after using the medic before being tied to a petal. Sublett Drug Co. of Bowling Green, Ky. promotes the product.
Master Commissioner J. T. Stokely offers at public auction at the Winchester Court House on Monday October 27 1913 at 2:00 pm the sheriff sale of multiple Clark and Montgomery county tracts including the Verden and Donahue tracts and the McClure farm to satisfy a $9000 judgment. The sale includes detailed boundary descriptions and dower and church lots. bidders must post Bond with approved surety and comply with six and twelve month credit terms. Amanda J. Anderson et al are named as defendants in the underlying suit.
