Outbreak in Big Bend Claims US Troops and Civilians
A raid by Mexican bandits on three Big Bend settlements left three American soldiers from the Fourteenth Cavalry and a youth dead. Two American citizens were kidnapped as fighting rages isolated the area. Gens. Scott and Obregon planned renewed cooperation but discussed little beyond the Glenn Springs raid.
