Supreme Court affirms wartime prohibition constitutionality

The Supreme Court held the war time prohibition act constitutional and upheld federal decrees in New York dismissing actions to force withdrawal of whiskey from bond. It dissolved injunctions allowing removal from bond of about 70 million gallons valued at 75 million dollars held by Kentucky Distilleries & Warehouse Co. The decision signals lasting wartime powers and binds the prohibition amendment to both federal and state law.
