In printing the list of young people going to call in last week's epic the name of Miss Anna Margaret White was omitted. Officials ask for any other omissions to be reported for correction.
Mount Dora High School releases its 1945 football slate with games listed from Sep 28 against Webster to Nov 16 an open date. Home games start at 8 p m with admission 20 cents for elementary, 30 cents for junior senior high and 50 cents for adults including federal tax.
Lucile Harding receives one of seven Lewis Teacher's scholarships to Florida State College for Women in Lake County. She earned the award by achieving a high score on a competitive test administered in Tavares.

Percy Davis arrived last Friday from New Orleans Naval Base for 30 day leave with his parents. This is the longest leave he has had in all his five years service in the United States Navy. Pfe Jon Barker, who is stationed at Camp Blanding, spent the week end here with his mother, Mrs. William Jay Barker and family. Cpl. Donald Thompson has been transferred from Goldsboro, North Carolina, to corne Blanding, where he awaits his discharge of the Army. James C. (Cliff) Dumas has been promoted to Staff Sergeant. Cliff has been overseas 21 months but hopes to be home within the next four months. Corporal Bernard McCabe return ed last week from Lawson General Hospital in Atlanta where he had been for a ten day check-up. He will be home on a 30 day furlough before reporting back for duty. Corporal Charles Rollin Javens is now citizen Javens. He received his honorable discharge from the Ma rine Corps on August 13. He en listed at Orlando on November 30.
The Pythian Sisters held food sales last Saturday and two weeks earlier with strong results. Mae Fenton chairs the event and thanks are extended to the Topic for publicity and to Mr. and Mrs. Myron Cronwall for use of their coffee shop room.
Mrs. Manuel J. Sedano announces the Manuel J. Sedano House Dining Room opening next Sunday at Ninth and Helen streets. The dining room will be open daily serving northern Mount Dora and visiting tourists following the death of Manuel J. Sedano, former Mount Dora Hotel Coffee Shop proprietor.
Millard C. Reid opens the Standard Service Station at Fifth and Alexander now operated with Ernie Green. Closed for three years since Reid left for the Ordnance Department, the station will install new lubricating equipment and provide the same class service as before.
Mount Dora reports the hurricane moved past Florida into the Atlantic north of Daytona Beach. High winds and rain caused debris scattered streets while citrus crops remained largely undamaged. Weather readings show barometer fluctuations before returning to normal.
Arthur L. Butler resumes preaching for the Mount Dora Church of Christ while sharing duties with Sanford, Florida, and W. O. Norton resigns from Mount Dora to join Leesburg. The church notes a temporary arrangement as a full-time minister search proceeds. The Fifth Avenue building nears completion. The Christian Home and Bible School is separate from the Church of Christ, despite shared members, and remains a private benevolent nonprofit. The church invites all to attend services.
WPB chairman J A Krug urges 21 000 volunteer salvage committees to stay on the job as wartime salvage of tin cans waste paper and used fats continues after V E Day. The notice stresses materials remain in short supply and reconversion needs must not be impaired.
C J Brown started Builders Supply Company on Fourth Avenue eleven years ago later renaming it Brown Builders Supply with partner T A Brotherson. An Eustis office operates under the same name. After government restrictions eased they offer screen door push and fir plywood this week.

The Kiwanis club scheduled 12:15 lunch with speaker Mrs. Lucie K Miller Lake County Home Demonstration Agent to discuss Home Industries in Lake County in light of reconversion. Last week officers for the coming year were nominated with W Don Conkling as president and Jack Groves as vice president among others. The guest was Richard Shipes Jr Electricians Mate 1-c recently stationed at Algiers Naval Repair Base near New Orleans Louisiana.
The First Methodist Church announces Sunday morning services at 11 with Rev. George Gibson on "The Christian Concept of World Order" and a chancel choir led by Mrs. C. M. Brown. Sunday school meets at 10, Youth Fellowship at 6 30, and a Workers Conference at Parish House Monday at 6 30 with a covered dish supper.
Jerry Morgan, a U S Navy petty officer and veteran of World War I, has taken over the Sunoco Filling Station at Fifth and Baker. Morgan served 22 months in the South Pacific with the First Marines, landed at Guadalcanal, survived three torpedoed vessels, and was wounded there. He recently returned from Bay Pines hospital and plans to reside at 1031 North Lexington Street.
Executive Council meets as George Cornelius reports good health and plans to arrive October 15th with his family.
