A LAWN CS. BOWLING of A LAWN CS. BOWLING of Although a member of the Boston Bowling Green club for 17 years Bridgy has not bowled during the last four Summers except when special circumstances made it advisable. He has bowled in seven annual Eastern division tournaments and on courts of 32 clubs across regions. Now he and Ruth join those who prefer to bowl only in Winter and on mail rinks. They carry complete equipment in their car and on Summer journeys pass more than 20 lawn bowling courts in New England. The Bridgmen spend 13 consecutive winters in Mount Dora driving down and back about 1,450 miles in under four days. They describe a colorfully scenic but tiring trip through Oak Ridge Norris Dam Great Smokies Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Trail. They advise visitors to limit mountain driving to 100 or 150 miles at a time. Summers find them in Wollaston near Quincy Shore Boulevard, six tenths of a mile from the harbor, with easy ocean breezes. People along Route 3 can reach their home within 500 feet and are invited to stop by.
