Lake County Tax Collector Paul H. Reed explains 1959 legislative changes to the Sales Tax Law expanding reciprocity for taxes paid to other states. Florida will collect 1 percent tax on motor vehicle license and title applications filed within 90 days of registration in another state, except Georgia, if sales tax was paid elsewhere. Prior credits for out of state sales tax were limited by conditions.
