Local couple Jack Blanchard and Misty Morgan recently moved to Mount Dora and have become rising country stars. Their Tennessee Birdwalk hit No 1 for five weeks last year earning a Gold Record. They tour widely, write and arrange, and record mainly in Nashville. They value family audiences and plan TV appearances while cherishing home life with Misty’s organ and piano plus Wolfgang Mozart the poodle.

Early Mount Dora House Demolished Touches City History
Abby Jos reports Mount Dora residents mourn the demolition of the True house at Fifth and Grandview across from the Episcopal Church. The 1884 origin of the residence traces to Rus sell H. True of Winfield Kansas who came for health and built a small three room dwelling, marking another early city home lost to time.
