Lake County Democrats announce three meetings for coming weeks. The first is 8 p.m. September 12 at the Bank of Mount Dora with Milton Weston presiding. Henry Coleman will report on the newly formed Democrat Club of Lake County. Dues are $5 annually. A dinner meeting at 8 p.m. October 3 in Leesburg will feature gubernatorial candidate Jim Williams. Reservations with Milton Weston. A caucus to name delegates for the state convention will be held at 12 noon October 15 in the Tavares Civic Center. The state convention meets November 18-20 in Orlando.
The Jones Chapter of the Senior Citizens of Lake County in Eustis celebrated its fourth anniversary on Aug 21 with religious services at St. James A.M.E. Church. Members then traveled by bus to Morrison's Restaurant in Ocala for dinner, escorted by Jessie Mae Hicks, using the Lake Community Action Agency transport. The group, mostly women over 55, has served local social projects for four years, proving age is no barrier to service.
The Mount Dora Chamber hosts a free real estate investment program titled Real estate as an investment. The event runs at 8 a.m. Thursday in the Baggage Room with sponsor Gale Associates Real Estate One Inc. and includes refreshments door prizes and surprises for members and newcomers.

Registration remains open for an adult community band non credit course at Lake Sumter Community College. Joan Asmus will lead a door to door campaign in September for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to fund research and care for children with CF and other lung diseases. Mary Weiss announces the effort as Foundation president.
Mr and Mrs Albert Seeberg of Mount Dora have donated twice in the past year to a new Players building fund. Dale Abbuhl owner of your Music Co contributed 250 dollars. The fund seeks a permanent home for the two year old Players and asks for more contributions. The New Main Curtain Fund grows slowly but favors permanent theater over mere assurance. The director says the group is a steady producer of utility entertainment and culture for the community and local business. The group seeks season ticket holders and patrons, with six shows and season tickets at 12 50 general or 15 reserved.
