Man Faces Theft Charge after Wreck at 441 and Lakeshore

Police charged William Hutcheson 27 with stealing a motorcycle tied to a crash at Highway 441 and Lakeshore Drive. Hutcheson was hospitalized with severe lacerations while Morgan Brantley 74 sustained a bruised knee. Aeolee Peterson of Robiest claimed the motorcycle was taken from his yard. The speedometer on the cycle read 76 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Sylvan Shores Deal Negotiations Progress

City Attorney Roy Christopher told the council that a new proposal should be ready to review for settling the Sylvan Shores Property Owners Association request to extend electrical service and inspections. He cited a recent amiable meeting with subdivision representatives and said revisions to the old contract are expected, including water and power on par with city users and street lighting in exchange for rights of way and existing lines. The association seeks extended street lighting and city inspection on new construction to protect owners.
