C Eugene and James A Hames of Glens Falls New York agreed to purchase the Grand View Hotel in Mount Dora from AC Bowdish who has run the historic resort for three years. The brothers plan to develop a summer resort and attract winter visitors while retaining current staff.

Kiwanis members will raise about $2000 to construct a 24 by 34 foot Boy Scout meeting house in Gilbert Park starting around October 1.
