The Azalea Garden Club of Tavares met at the home of Mrs. J O Foley with co hosts Mrs G T Sims and Mrs B E Schnepper. New president Mrs Herbert Gar ratt led the session and Florida Flower Calendars were distributed along with yearbooks. Discussions covered garden therapy and outreach to Medic Home Health Center and Harry Anna Crip pled Children’s Hospital with a donation to the State Federation of Garden Clubs Therapy Project. Members pledged park beautification and accepted an invitation from Windermere Garden Club for an event on Nov 17 featuring Mrs Blome of Dayton Ohio.

CAP Cadets Engage in Rock Springs Communications Bivouac
Nine cadets from Mid-Florida Cadet Squadron joined thirty two cadets and seven senior members for a Civil Air Patrol communications bivouac at Rock Springs. They learned radio procedures including one way and two way communications, radio jargon, proper call signs and the phonetic alphabet. Interested youths may attend CAP meetings from 7 to 9 30 p m each Thursday at the Mount Dora American Legion Post.

Burglaries Reported in Mount Dora Near Oct 12
Mount Dora police logged two burglaries last week. Pink Cottage Candies was broken into on Wednesday morning October 12 and Robert Podosek, 25, was arrested at 1252 oe Road Mount Dora. All stolen property recovered and Podosek charged through the State Attorney's office. A separate burglary on Tremain Street Sunday around 3 pm saw a television stolen. Detective John Mitchell says investigation continues.
