Eden Valley saga ends in feud and reform effort
After the Mexican war Robin Kershaw and his wife settle Eden Valley in northeastern California. Old feuds flare over fences and water leading to Kershaw killing Joel Hensley. By 1917 only Kershaws remain on one side and Nate Tichenor survives the Hensley line, supporting Lorry. Silas Babson pushes to control irrigation and hydro power, while Nate and Lorry grow closer and face legal challenges from Babson with editor Brainerd pressured to attack Nate.
