Florida high school principals approve a state ball championship playoff plan for 1963 64 with a proposed 12th football game. The plan would run playoffs for a state crown in multiple classifications but participation remains voluntary per Florida High School Activities Association Executive Secretary Lafayette Golden.

Mount Dora High School fashion shifts include culottes short skirts and pleated styles, with bulky sweaters and tennis shoes trending. Master Point night at the Lake County Duplicate Bridge Club produced eight tables in a Mitchell movement with top finishes by North and South winners Mrs. E. A. The Garden Gate in Mount Dora hosts Monday sessions for all bridge lovers. Also noted, Lake County gasoline tax collections for October 1962 rose by $7,000 year over year per State Comptroller Ray E. Green.
The Golf Club hosted a 36 hole Turkey Shoot drawing about 40 players including men and women. Prizes went to low gross Ernie McRee and low net winners Jay Palmer Frank Treen Herb Martin with Florence Hawkins taking the Ladies Division.
