City's Vote Tops 92 Percent in Two Mount Dora Precincts

Mount Dora may have set a national per capita turnout record in the November 6 election. Lake County registrar Catherine Baker reports 92.7 percent of registered voters cast ballots in two Mount Dora precincts, with Precinct 20 showing only 10 of 886 nonvoters. Absentee ballots totaled 34 in precinct 20 and 20 in precinct 31 east of Donnelly. Nationally, about 62 percent of eligible voters are estimated to have voted, with registered-voter turnout not yet issued.

The Sylvan Shores Property Owners association holds its annual meeting at the Community building on Wednesday evening December 5 to elect new officers. A nominating committee chaired by Mrs. Frank J. A refreshment hour with sandwiches and coffee will follow the business session.
