A joint Mount Dora Woman's Club and PTA gathering on December 2 at the Community building will feature Dr. Darrell J. Mase coordinator of the Florida Center of Clinical Services to discuss Understanding Our Children.
Walter TeStrake Jr and Jackie Hutchinson were chosen as delegates to the Key Club Florida District convention at Lakeland December 12 and 13. Ten other Kiwanis sponsored members will attend sessions with seven registrations paid. Meetings include officer elections, a tour of Florida Southern College, a barbecue and a final banquet.
Mount Dora students watched films on soil erosion and river importance at the Princess theatre. The show, aided by Walter Shaffer of the Soil Conservation Service and the Junior Garden Club led by Mrs. Robert Travers, highlighted topsoil loss due to forest fires and poor practices.

In Lake County Florida a circuit court order requires the state and property owners to appear on December 3 1952 to show cause why the petition to validate and authorize the $300000 utilities revenue bonds of Mount Dora should not be granted. Bonds are dated January 1 1953 and pay six percent interest semi annually with serial maturities to 1973. The filing is by petitioner Town of Mount Dora Florida and attorney Roy Christopher.

A community meeting at Mount Dora Community building on Monday at 7 30 p m will openly discuss a youth center. Planning Commission led by J G Ray Jr will present options including school site with a pool, cafetorium, or Lake Dora Gilbert park location. School officials and Student Council members will participate while residents offer ideas. Financing via City bond is a key hurdle in deciding whether to act on the long debated project.
