Mount Dora's municipal water supply is reported as very good by the State Board of Health. Samples collected November 9 and analyzed November 10 show total bacterial counts of 115 and 120 within 24 hours, with no fermentation or coalon growth at 48 hours. Chlorination is minimal, taste unaffected, and the system uses a centrifugal pump and aerator to improve quality.

Union Thanksgiving Service in Mount Dora
The union Thanksgiving services for Mount Dora will be held Wednesday November 28 at 7 30 p m in the Methodist church. Dr A M Brodie pastor of the Community church will preach the sermon. Egypt and Its Art Opens Mount Dora Lecture
The Mount Dora Art League opened with a lecture on Egypt and its art held Friday in the Community church auditorium. Speaker Mr Gallie of Eustis shared experiences in Egypt including the Valley of the Tombs of the Kings. Slides showcased excavations and scenes, with musical interludes by Miss Noble and Mr Day of Eustis. The images were provided by the General Extension Division of the University of Gainesville. The Craft Class meets 2 PM Saturday November 21 at the Community Center. The Christmas meeting is set for Friday evening December 4 at the same venue.

Marionette Show Delights Large Local Audience
The marionette show presented Tuesday night in the Community Auditorium, sponsored by the PTA, drew a large audience. Sixth grade students sold the most tickets, and the production received strong audience enthusiasm.
Montverde Tops County Red Cross Roll Call Drive
Montverde leads the county by going over the top in the Red Cross drive with 36 memberships reported in 11 days. Mount Dora shows strong participation with $5.00 and $10.00 memberships, house-to-house canvass planned late this week, with workers enrolled and a complete canvass to be conducted. Orange Blossom Trail plans spring ads to boost summer visitors
At a Kis simmee meeting the Trail Association moved toward printing at least 50 000 folders showing towns and country along the Orange Blossom Trail. A. C. Slaughter chaired a committee to study publishing the folders and endorsing a spring advertising push to draw Summer travelers to Florida. T. M. Kramer represents Mount Dora in the association.

Dr. T D Johnson of the Lake County Red Cross reports disaster relief reached 131000 families in 39 states during the past year. The organization aided 105 disasters, spent 5232052.48, and trained 1173494 first aiders since 1910 while enrolling 80961 life savers. The Red Cross is described as the People’s Red Cross.
