Bowling rinks stay busy with sessions for new bowlers in the morning and afternoon. Rollie Morse bought a new set of bowls and had a rough start with three wrong biases. The era house on Bev. o5 10 lay plans for a new member and notes several newly chartered or arriving members, plus a bridge and Samba card night with 56 attendees. A visiting group from Orlando played a friendly match with local bowlers, and Dr. and Mrs. Lee celebrated their marriage with wedding cake at the club. Shuffleboard tournament draws 84 teams in county event
The club season end contest attracted 84 teams from Sanford Deland Clermont Orange City Daytona Beach Ocala New Smyrna Orlando Leesburg Umatilla and our club for a 168 player event. Orlando won the final and top doubles honors with Fossett Farwell. Eustis Braden Hedges placed fourth amid bright sun and cool air.

Russia's Land Mass No Comfort To Nation Says Dr Lewis
Dr E E Lewis told a community forum at the Community church that much of the USSR land mass lies in the Arctic and offers little value, stressing geography's impact on history and religion. He traced Near East and Asia contributions to humanity and noted rising Asian nationalism amid U S efforts to unite Moslem states as a bulwark against communism. Lewis described Eurasia and Asia housing about 1.5 billion people across 18,523,000 square miles bounded by mountains and seas.
