Injured Lt Cheek in Germany During NATO Reinforcement Exercise
Lt Cheek sustained injuries in Germany during the NATO Reforger exercise. He has been treated at 97th US Army Hospital Frankfurt and may be evacuated to the United States. John Cheek is now at Martin Army Hospital Fort Benning Georgia, progressing well. He will be in traction four to six weeks followed by months of therapy. Meanwhile Mount Dora hosts a Fall Antique Show November 11 to 13 co sponsored by the Antique Dealers Association of Mount Dora and Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce. Show hours run Friday and Saturday 12 noon to 8 pm and Sunday 12 noon to 5 pm. Admission is free with attendance prizes.
