The Oklahoma Press Association judges praised the well written, thought provoking piece. Crone’s long running weekly column began nearly three years ago with rare missed issues. He was born November 10 1889 at Fort Shaw Montana.

Mount Dora Council Reviews Roads and Bikeways Plan
The Mount Dora City Council split time between road improvements and a proposed bikeway. A survey will precede action on removing two trees and a hedge on Second Avenue. Henry Platt pitched an eight foot asphalt bikeway from Lake Dora Drive to Oakland Drive linking downtown to Lake Gertrude and Lake Shore Drive at an estimated eight to ten thousand dollars per mile. The plan has support from the Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club as discussion continues for June 4.

Mount Dora Bible School Falls in State Final
Loyola of Miami defeated Mount Dora Christian Home & Bible School 8 to 6 in the second game, ending their state playoff run. Loyola then won the Class A State title by beating University Christian Jacksonville 9 to 5 while University Christian had eliminated Bristol Liberty County 10 to 5 to reach the final. In the Dora game, Mike Hill walked, Chip Henry singled, and Robin Pruitt reached on an error to load the bases in the first inning.
