Red and Black Shuffleboard Contests Under New System
The president Dr Hornung introduced a new selection method for Red and Black teams. Captains chose members from a pool with fixed team rosters and partners set by captains. Weekly matches on each board ensured varied opponents. Red led 23 to 10 in the first contest across eleven boards and 33 games. Mount Dora and Eustis clubs held events with 56 players across fourteen courts and 42 games. High Reds were 236 by Braden and Parker. Black high 246 by Weidner and Mrs Houston, who then defeated Hunter to win the playoff.
