A letter to the editor argues against fluoridated water and compares bottled spring water costs in Mount Dora. It calculates yearly expenses for two and four person households at ten cents per gallon, noting additional family budgeting considerations when choosing a Florida location.
A satirical editorial from The Editor critiques fluoridation claims and the push for Serutan in public health. It parodies pseudo scientific talk about benefits for children and adult need, proposing a comical split faucet solution to end bickering. The piece closes with a quip about human vanity and the dog’s endorsement of the author’s irony.
Notice from the Town Council of Mount Dora Florida that an assessment roll for constructing grading paving and improving streets and avenues has been filed with the council. Assessments are payable in cash within thirty days or in five or four installments with six percent interest after equalization and confirmation. The notice lists parcels and owners in Pinecrest Subdivision and nearby avenues, with total estimated costs and per front foot charges. The May 1952 council meeting set the framework for equalization and payment terms.
Mount Dora council considers putting fluoridation to a townwide vote after a May meeting, with a committee to study the issue. Readers are invited to contact the writer from Cochituate, Massachusetts, and organize a local group to push for or against fluoridated water.
