Mount Dora Chief of Police Bud Huett meets with Officer L. E. Lane to discuss law enforcement classes now offered at Lake Sumter Junior. The discussion highlights course options and potential enrollments for aspiring officers.
East Town Progress Committee plans a Saturday clean up inviting residents to haul any junk to the roadside. Scrap metal will be sold to fund playground equipment for Mount Dora Central Park with trucks provided by the city. Volunteers meet 8:30 a.m. at Reynolds Grocery. Key Club and Youth Organization join in. Lake County proclaims Clean Up month supporting the effort.
Mount Dora area schedules a preschool roundup on Thursday May 21 from 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 3 pm at Roseborough Elementary School. The IceHouse Theatre invites the public to a May 20 celebration starting at 7 p.m. with fellowship and a 8 p.m. full course roast beef dinner catered by Jennie for table groups.
