1938 Florida Osteopathic Convention Heads to Lake County
The 33rd annual Florida Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons convention voted to hold the next gathering in Lake County in May 1938 bringing about 150 members and 50 wives from Florida and 25 to 40 from northern states. Dr H T Kirkpatrick of Miami was elected president and Dr Gerald A Richardson of Mount Dora named committee chair and president of the state obstetricians group. Lake County attendees included Dr Erwin L Schumacher and Mrs Schumacher of Eustis Dr Clarence S Ball of Eustis and Dr Melville G Hunter of Leesburg.

Mount Dora High School Frigee class will guest at Kiwanis luncheon with a program led by Mrs. C. M. Brown. Students performed instrumental numbers, two vocal solos by Missee Norman, piano solos by J. No Damage From Fire Sunday P M
A cane brake behind a McDonald and Eleventh Street residence owned by Mrs. R W Dickson and occupied by Mr Karl Broom and family caught fire Sunday afternoon. The Brooms were away. the origin is unknown but may involve an ember from a bonfire. Fireman W C Williams alerted the scene and moved flammables away from a rear outbuilding. No damage occurred.
