Dave Edgerton chair of the Mount Dora Library Board invites public ideas for dedicating the new library. He notes 12 board members hold 12 differing views on ceremony transfer of materials and honoring donors and deceased citizens. A follow up article will outline decisions from the May board meeting.
Emogene Stegall, Lake County Supervisor of Elections and Florida Association of Election Supervisors president, will be guest speaker for the Democratic Executive Committee meeting at 8 p.m. Monday May 16 in the Atlantic Bank of Eustis. Chairman Milton Weston presides. Stegall will discuss changing election laws. Reports from committee chairs. fundraiser chair Beulah Savage will outline the Leesburg gala. Special guest Jim Free, Carter administration liaison, among other attendees. Betsy Madsen hosts as mistress of ceremonies.
The Lake County Republican Men's Club sponsors a spring barbecue in Leesburg with a steak dinner including potato corn and slaw. Donation is 2.50 per person. Leesburg Women’s Republican Club and Golden Triangle Women’s Club members attend. Bring your own silver. Reservations by May 15 through the clubs.
