Dr Brown Rejects Second Share Offer From $450000 Cache
Historic notes show Dr. C. E. Brown spurned a second invitation to claim a third of $450,000 from a U S Cy stash. A fiber of the letter hints at a Topeka origin and a Mount Dora destination as a trap, but he declines, suspecting a blackmail scheme with a prison tale and hidden trunk.

Morris Trial Ends With Hung Jury
In Circuit court Judge Truman G. Futch declared a mistrial in the Homer Morris bolita case after a six hour jury deadlock. State Beverage agents raided Morris’s Mount Dora area gas station bar in January and testified they saw Morris hand bolita tickets to a patron and seized 76 dollars. Main witness was J. E. Beach, inspector for the State Beverage department. Defense contends dates and tickets lack bona fide bolita proof. The next hearing may occur in the Fall term.
