Winter Park Federal Savings and Loan Association gifts 12 000 to guarantee completion of a Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce community meeting room. The donation will be paid in four 3000 installments. The project, to begin soon, aims to ready the space by summer end inDepot’s rail station renovation.

Benefit chicken dinner for Glen Horton Jr.
A benefit chicken dinner hosted by the Mount Dora Jaycees will be served this Saturday in the Golden Triangle Shopping Center in the vacant lot between Winn-Dixie and Sears. It runs from 11 30 a m to 7 p m with 2 50 for adults and 1 75 for children. All proceeds aid Glen Horton whose paralysis from a swimming accident almost two years ago requires medical care and a spine operation fee.

The fourth annual Greek Night at Jennie Logas Garden Gate in Mount Dora will run from 6 to 9 PM with a Greek deli buffet and dancing to a bouzouki orchestra from Daytona Beach. Mount Dora area elementary and middle school students plus Christian Home and Bible School pupils enjoyed free Florida Symphony Orchestra performances last week. Youth Symphonies conductor Charles Gottschalk guided demonstrations of orchestra instruments with support from the Mount Dora Women's Committee and local businesses.
