Icehouse Awards Set For May 22
The IceHouse Awards Banquet will be held May 22 at Garden Gate starting 7 p.m. A guest speaker and entertainment will accompany the presentation of the Ice Cubes to actors and actresses chosen for standout roles this season. Reservations can be made by calling 383-2887 or 383-4087. tickets will be mailed to those who reserve. Miss Dolores Caudel of Mount Dora and two Lake Sumter Junior College students received Florida State University scholarships from Dr. Dixie Jean Allen based on Florida 12th Grade Test scores and junior college achievement.

Seaman Apprentice Bolt Graduates From Navy Boot Camp
Great Lakes Illinois announces Seaman Apprentice William H Bolt III, age 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. William H Bolt Jr of Mount Dora Florida and husband of Pauline Skinner of Birmingham Alabama, has completed nine weeks of Navy basic training at the Naval Training Center. In early service he studied military subjects.

Mount Dora Shuffleboard Teams Compete in 1968 Round Robin
On Monday evening the Lake County Round Robin event at Clermont saw three Mount Dora teams go 7-2 overall. Arch Gant Lena Pier lost the high playoff to Eustis 102 to 88. Jack Buxton Jennie Sutliff fell 101 to ? in the second playoff. Tuesday featured Red and Black play with 13 courts, Patch Wheeler 258 first Red, Wood Thompson 213 second Red. Black winners were Buxton Shirley 246 and Wood Thompson 105 to 69. Officials listed. Friday’s play canceled due to rain.
