May Registration Schedules for Lake County Public Schools
Lake County children planning to enter kindergarten or first grade for 1975/76 must register at Triangle Elementary in Mount Dora on May 6 from 9 am to noon or at Roseborough Elementary in Mount Dora on May 15 from 9 am to 3 pm. New entrants need birth certificates and health immunization records, with nurses present. Children six by January 1, 1976 may enroll in first grade. those five by that date may enter kindergarten. Some students may qualify for early first grade through statewide testing.

Effort Launched to Aid Vietnamese Family
A Lake County resident Russell McKinney began a 12000 mile mission to rescue his foster son John McKinney’s family from South Vietnam. Capt Le Phong his wife and two sons and other relatives were flown toward the Philippines then Wake Island for U S admission. The elder McKinney adopted John after meeting his family in Vietnam in 1963 and bringing him to the United States in 1965.
