A small group of citizens met at the Yacht Club to discuss the Howey for Governor campaign. They planned another meeting Friday April 1 at eight o clock to form a non partisan club open to all citizens, with aim to discuss issues and convention candidates. The committee urged a large attendance.
The Needlework Guild presented a creditable display of garments and articles from Mount Dora members. Guild directors hosted visitors and explained the group’s work while Mrs Lashar received congratulatory letters from the Philadelphia headquarters.
Mrs. C. C. White and Mrs. I. W. Birdseye of Bridgeport Conn joined by Dr and Mrs. D. B. Maitland of Middletown Conn and Mr and Mrs. George C. Klauder of Philadelphia Pa arrive at Lakeside for the season bearing greetings and social notices.
The Home Demonstration Club schedules its monthly meeting for Wednesday March 23 at 2 o'clock in the Community Building Mrs Allen will teach the making of lamp shades.

A longstanding partnership founded in 1898 by H. H. Dickson and Sidney Ives Sr. is celebrated in Orlando as Dickson Ives offers daily bargains this week. Dickson, a recognized local retailer leader, heads the campaign alongside Ives.
The Dickson-Ives store marks its 34th anniversary with a pre Easter sale featuring clothing and accessories for women and children and home furnishings. Shoppers from the area and beyond visit the popular store, taking part in the events and enjoying special sale offerings through Saturday.

The Fire Company was called out twice yesterday afternoon. A grass fire broke out at the rear of the Drake house at 810 Fifth Avenue. A second fire at Lake Franklin Park near Coach Laney's home was caused by a water heater explosion and extinguished promptly.
